David came to live with us in the spring of 2001. Our dear
Doberman ,Charles, had died of heart failure at the age of
eleven, and our Newfoundland, Diana, was profoundly
lonely. I can’t remember how we found Doberman Rescue, but
one visit with David and he came home with us. Diana and
David became fast friends. Diana died this past spring and
because of all the medical problems we had had with our
Newfoundland's we decided to get another Doberman,
although David really wanted a poodle.
We brought Nancy home in September After pouting for
five days he and Nancy became fast friends. They really
love to play with their toys, especially tennis balls.
Nancy has taken to hiding stuffed animals in our plants, a
trick she learned from David who buries bones in the
plants. They are different. David hates the water and
Nancy loves it. She will p y all day in the hose if you
would let her. Once while I was upstairs she brought the
hose in the house and hosed down David and the family room
(she thinks she’s part Newfoundland). We love them both
and we can’t imagine not having them to spice up our
lives.
Eric and Diane
PS Our three children are named Spot, Puff, and Taffy.
