Having a Doberman gives new meaning to the idea of
“puppy love”.
I cannot say enough great things about our Doberman,
Guinness. He came to us
from the Doberman Rescue of Colorado this past February.
He was the cutest
little bundle of red and gold we had ever laid eyes on.
Guinness was eight weeks
old when we adopted him. We loved him so much we almost
adopted one of his
siblings also. Though we love our Guinness, I am sure
glad we didn't take on the
responsibility of raising, housebreaking, and training
two puppies at once.
Guinness was quite a handful! He has done very well in
his training. He's a fast
learner, but can be a little on the stubborn side
sometimes. Guinness as a puppy
was a riot. Between chasing the cats and running through
the yard with lingerie
he was quite the recipe for comic relief. He gets so
excited for his walks that
you can't even say or spell the word walk, or he goes
nuts running laps through
the house and bucking around like a wild horse. He is by
far the sweetest, most
affectionate animal we have ever known. He is always by
our sides no matter where we are. He goes with us
everywhere and especially
likes to go camping. In the evenings he likes to snuggle
up with us while we are
reading or watching the T.V. In the mornings when my
fiancé leaves early for
work he comes and snuggles with me in bed. He is also
the chattiest animal we
have ever known. He “speaks” to us quite often as though
we know what he is
saying. Despite his large size (90 pounds at 11 months
old) he is gentle with
kids and plays well with other dogs. I can't wait to get
Guinness another
Doberman to play with. The cats just don't seem to be
real happy when he slings
his slobbery toys at them. Guinness has made a huge
impact on our lives; we will
never have any other breed but a Doberman. We are so
thankful that the Doberman
Rescue of Colorado paired us up with such a wonderful
companion.
